They are remaking one of my fave movies of all time! Should I laugh or cry? Probably laugh judging from the cast!
Liam Neeson is playing Zeus, the wise yet sometimes ill-tempered king of the gods and father of Perseus (Sam Worthington). Ralph Fiennes will play Hades, ruler of the underworld who aims to overtake Zeus and rule over all.
The two actors join Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton and Alexa Davalos in the production, which begins shooting later this month in the U.K.
The storyline will still revolve around Perseus' journey to save the Princess Andromeda, during which he must complete various tasks set out by Zeus, including capturing Pegasus and slaying Medusa.

Well I would use Alexander and Troy as the "hallmarks" of modern sword and sandal movies and well they were pretty much full on fucking caca.
ReplyDeleteEspecially Troy, I mean how can you take the fantastic story taken from the lliad and water it down so much that really... you dont care for ANY of the characters involved and wonder why you wasted 2 hours of your life on the film.
I despair for the many remakes that are happening at the moment, I mean really, have people lost the ability to come up with original ideas?
